We are excited to announce that all six pitch finalists of the Fertilizer for Food (F4F) Open Innovation Challenge (OIC) have now been awarded. Previously, we shared the news of the first three awarded enterprises: Tedla Belachew Organic Fertilizer Production, 3AM Manufacturing PLC, and THUR Biotech.
We are now pleased to report that the remaining three finalists, Bogale Borena Vermi Compost Production and Distribution from Sidama Region, Dale Woreda; Green.REE Recycling from Sidama Region, Hawassa; and Ethio-garden Agro (PLC) from Oromia Region, Adama, have also received their awards. Bogale Borena is focused on producing and distributing vermicompost to enhance soil health, Green.REE Recycling is dedicated to converting organic waste into high-quality compost, and Ethio-garden Agro specializes in producing and supplying organic fertilizers to promote sustainable farming practices. With all six enterprises now awarded, the F4F OIC continues to foster innovation and drive progress in sustainable agriculture, enhancing food security and environmental conservation in their respective regions.
The three previously awarded enterprises are actively scaling up their project milestone activities. They are working diligently to meet the targets and objectives outlined in their respective project plans. By the conclusion of this project award agreement, each awardee is anticipated to have made substantial progress in their scale-up journey. This progress will be reflected in the significant advancements and growth achieved through their dedicated efforts and strategic initiatives.
